quality dogs.

Please note, although
the SAC judge cannot
count these three classes
as a
‘Breed Club Show’,
the actual number of dogs judged in the SAC’s will count towards their

In 2013, with Kennel Club permission, the EACA introduced
‘Special Award Classes’ to its show classification, these to be judged by one of our ‘C’ List judges.

‘Special Award Classes’ – A novice judge is invited from the EACA’s ‘C’ list to judge these classes which take place during the lunch break. Judged separately from the main show, a beaten dog in these classes is not considered a beaten dog in terms of challenging for the Best of Sex, Best of Breed, Best in Show or even Challenge Certificates in the main competition.

‘SAC Mentoring Scheme’ – We now offer a mentoring scheme for all SAC judges, as the committee agrees there is no training or support for those novice judges on the ‘C’ lists. When you officiate at our shows a member of our Judges’ sub-committee (those who award CCs in at least one breed) will be available to work with you before, during and after your judging. They can help and advise you regarding ring etiquette and Breed Standards (Collies Rough & Smooth). This is a confidential matter between mentor and mentee, and purely voluntary.

If you wish to participate, a Certificate of Participation will be issued to you and signed by the Club Secretary on completion of your appointment.
